Corporate Activity Standards [Policy]

The SANYO DENKI Group has established a “Corporate Activity Standards” for employees to ensure that our corporate activities are based on our corporate philosophy.
This “Corporate Activity Standards” is a set of policies, guidelines, and explanations, by category, for the normative behavior of each and every employee. Employees reflect on their own behavior by checking the Code of Conduct in a timely manner and receive regular training to deepen their understanding of the Code of Conduct and put it into practice on an ongoing basis.

1.2  The Scope of Application of Our Corporate Philosophy and Corporate Activity Standards

The SANYO DENKI Group’s corporate philosophy and Corporate Activity Standards are applicable to all corporate activities of SANYO DENKI Group companies.

2.  The Observance of Laws and Regulations, and the Protection of Assets

2.1  The Observance of Relevant Regulations and Laws

The SANYO DENKI Group accepts its responsibility as a member of international society, agrees to abide by laws and regulations, and act in a socially responsible manner.

2.2  The Protection of Our Tangible and Intangible Assets

The SANYO DENKI Group has a responsibility to properly use, preserve, and safeguard our company’s tangible and intangible assets, use them as efficiently as possible, and must not engage in any improper behavior that could cause loss or damage to them.

2.3  The Management of Information

The SANYO DENKI Group recognizes the value of information as an asset, and strictly manages information to prevent its leakage and unauthorized use.

3.  Society and the Environment

3.1  The Prevention of Global Warming

The SANYO DENKI Group will strive to do the following to prevent global warming:
(1) suppress the exhaust of greenhouse gases
(2) develop products that prevent global warming
(3) cooperate with national and local government global warming prevention measures
(4) reduce energy consumption at our factories and offices
(5) improve energy efficiency in the development of new products

3.2  Waste Reduction, Reuse and Recycling

The SANYO DENKI Group will strive to do the following to reduce our environmental impact, and establish a recycling-based economy and society:
(1) reduce the amount of waste it produces
(2) reuse and recycle used products if possible when developing new products

3.3  Measures Regarding Hazardous Chemical Substances

The SANYO DENKI Group will do the following aimed at reducing our use and emissions of hazardous chemical substances, in order to reduce our impact on the environment:
(1) control the use of chemical substances in our products
(2) control the use of chemical substances used in our manufacturing processes
(3) control the amount of chemical substances emitted during our manufacturing processes

3.4  The Promotion of Mutual Understanding with Society

(1) The SANYO DENKI Group actively engages in activities to promote mutual understanding and trust, in order to achieve harmony and coexistence with society.
(2) In accordance with our management policies and business strategies, the SANYO DENKI Group actively communicates with society, and discloses corporate information fairly and accurately.
(3) The SANYO DENKI Group has no relations with any antisocial group whatsoever.

3.5  Local Communities

(1) The SANYO DENKI Group fulfills its responsibilities as members of local communities and cooperates in the creation of healthy, safe, and comfortable communities.

(1) The SANYO DENKI Group does not intervene in politics for or against a specific party, politician and/or candidate.

When receiving any instruction or order from the government about its business activities, the SANYO DENKI Group will immediately examine its appropriateness.

4.1  Our Basic Stance Regarding Customers

4.2  The Antimonopoly Law

The SANYO DENKI Group shall comply with the Antimonopoly Act and other related laws in all the countries where it operates.

4.3  Gifts and Entertaining

The SANYO DENKI Group complies with laws and regulations in accordance with commonly accepted practices, when presenting gifts or entertaining customers.

4.4  Gifts and Entertainment for Public Officials

The SANYO DENKI Group does not give gifts to, nor entertain public officials.

4.5  Resale Agents

In accordance with laws and regulations, the SANYO DENKI Group does not impose resale conditions in our dealings with resale agents.

4.6  Import and Export-related Regulations and Laws

The SANYO DENKI Group complies with Japan’s “Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act” and “Customs Act”, and similar import-export-related laws and regulations in other countries.

5.1  Our Fundamental Stance Regarding Suppliers

The SANYO DENKI Group considers suppliers to be important business partners, and aims to maintain friendly and trusting relationships with them, for our mutual coexistence and prosperity.

The SANYO DENKI Group complies with commercial laws and regulations, and it does not engage in any illegal transactions.

5.3  The Selection of Suppliers

The SANYO DENKI Group selects all suppliers from whom we purchase goods and services, based on just and fair assessments.

If we discover any violations of this Corporate Activity Standards, or if we suspect any suspicious activity, please contact your supervisor, a member of the Corporate Activity Standards Committee, or the SANYO DENKI General Affairs Department. Consultations will be kept strictly confidential.
