The Declaration of Partnership Building

SANYO DENKI advocates the declaration of partnership building that was established at the "Council on Promoting Partnership Building for Cultivating the Future" of which the members are the Chairman of the Japan Business Federation, the Chairman of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the President of the Japanese Trade Union Confederation, and the ministers of relevant ministries (Cabinet Office, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism), and we have established and issued our declaration of partnership building in October 2021.

The Declaration of Partnership Building

The company's declaration of partnership building addresses:

  1. Coexistence and mutual prosperity of all of our supply chain, and creation of new linkages that are independent of the differences in the members' sizes and the groups they belong to.
  2. Compliance with the code of desirable transaction practices for contractors and subcontractors ("promotion standards" under the Act on the Promotion of Subcontracting Small and Medium-sized Enterprises).

Based on this declaration, we will strive to increase the added value of the entire supply chain by building long-term relationships of trust with suppliers in the supply chain, and promoting coexistence, mutual prosperity, and linkages with all business operators supporting us.

In addition to this declaration, we made the following commitments:

  • In order to provide our suppliers with the latest information about our market demands and production prospects, we will hold explanatory meetings on an as-needed basis to contribute to suppliers' capital expenditure and production planning.
  • We will evaluate activities of suppliers annually and grant awards to those that have conducted outstanding activities so that we can foster long-term relationships of trust with them.

Promoting Green Supply
We established in August 2005 our Chemical Substance Management Guidelines for the management of hazardous substances concerning parts and indirect materials used for our company’s products and manage chemical substances in accordance with it. Our Chemical Substance Management Guidelines provide management rules concerning substances specified in laws and regulations, such as substances whose use is restricted or prohibited by the RoHS Directive, SVHC (high-concern material) in REACH, substances banned by legislation. They include definitions of terms, RoHS threshold values, survey questionnaires for our suppliers on chemical substances that affect the environment, and a guarantee form to assure that no RoHS-restricted substances are contained in the materials we use.
Request for Environmental Information about Materials

We request that our suppliers agree to abide by our Chemical Substance Management Guidelines and submit a survey questionnaire and a guarantee form to assure that their supplies contain no RoHS-restricted substances.
